The traditional warranty process for the automotive industry is outdated and cumbersome. Customers receive physical warranty booklets that are prone to damage, loss, or misplacement. These booklets require manual updates and signing, leading to inefficiencies for both customers and businesses.

Develop a web-based digital warranty system that replaces physical booklets with real-time, QR code-enabled solutions, ensuring seamless claim management, instant updates, and enhanced efficiency for customers, workshops, and GMR HQ.

The Challenge

For GMR, Malaysia’s largest reconditioned and second-hand car extended warranty provider, managing and tracking warranty claims for thousands of customers was time-consuming and error-prone. Additionally:

  • The physical booklet process was prone to delays and lacked real-time updates.
  • Customers faced difficulty during claims due to incomplete or misplaced documentation.
  • Panel workshops and GMR HQ struggled with fragmented information, creating bottlenecks in claim validation and service processes.

The Solution: A Fully Digital Warranty System

We worked with GMR to create a web-based digital warranty booklet, revolutionizing the way warranties are issued, managed, and serviced.
Key Features and Process Improvements:

  1. Digital Warranty Issuance:
    • When customers purchase a car, they are issued a digital warranty booklet accessible via a secure web app.
    • Customers sign their warranties online, and a copy is automatically sent to their email, eliminating the need for physical documents.
  2. Integrated Service Vouchers:
    • Customers receive digital service vouchers to redeem at GMR’s panel workshops.
  3. QR Code System:
    • Customers present a unique QR code at the workshop.
    • The workshop scans the code, and all relevant service details are instantly shared among the customer, workshop, and GMR HQ.
  4. Live System Updates:
    • The entire process is synchronized in real time, ensuring that warranty statuses, service details, and claims are updated instantly.
  5. Frictionless Claims:
    • By digitalizing the claim process, customers no longer need to rely on physical booklets or cumbersome paperwork, making claims smooth, fast, and error-free.
